Design for All: The Design for All Competence Center of Inclusion andicap ticino is the first Swiss center dedicated to the development, application and dissemination of Design for All. The project is innovative and supported by the canton of Ticino and the Federal Office for Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (FOPD).
With the goal of creating spaces suitable for all, the Design for All Competence Center offers professionals in the construction sector (architects, engineers, public and private entities) specialized advice on accessibility; it organizes training and collaborates with territorial realities to promote inclusion and equal rights in the use of spaces.

BIOGRAPHY:

Caterina Cavo is an architect and PhD.Registered with the OTIA – Order of Engineers and Architects of the Canton of Ticino -, she has been involved in design for twelve years, with work and research experience also outside (Renzo Piano Building Workshop in Paris and École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Strasbourg).
Today she is responsible for the Design for All Competence Center and the architectural barriers office of inclusione andicap ticino, a nonprofit association that protects the rights of people with disabilities.
